Wednesday Wishlist #9

Good evening lovelies! I've just trudged back from work and am going to unwind by sharing with you a few things I've been craving this week.

1. Ok this is a step away from my usual erm... style but it looks so comfy! It's a kigurumi or 'kigu' for short and I want one! They come in masses of different animals including owls, penguins and unicorns! but this grey kitty stole my heart. I would totally wear this every moment of my life i was inside my own house :')

2. I've seen quite a few people wearing these styles of bracelets and have finally found one I like. This is a gorgeous pink colour would look great in a stack of bracelets.

3. I didn't think I liked lip pens until I swatched this and it's berry coloured counterpart in TopShop. It's a lovely colour and it stayed all day on my hand! Plus I think it'd be great to create a precise shape on my lips which are a bit funny in that they don't have a clear line on the outer parts. I'll definitely be dropping by and picking it up soon!

4. This is Love Letters Of Great Men by Ursula Doyle. This is a book that I've wanted to read forever. I've spent many an English lesson studying the professional stuff these guys wrote and it intrigues me to think what they wrote in their personal time. The guys in here had amazing gifts for writing and I'd love to see exactly how they wrote when they were just writing straight to the people they loved... because I'm a lit. geek right?

5. I saw this bag on a wishlist on the amazing Cupcake's Clothes written by Georgina. It's just... fabulous is it not? It's like something a child's doll would have as a bag but despite it's candy cloud colour the shape and detail make it so on trend it hurts! Plus it's only £20.00!

Current 3 Favourite Lippies

This morning while I was tidying up my pitifully messy lipstick collection I realised I've only worn three for the last two weeks! While it's a bit sad that I'm neglecting all my other lippies I love these colours to death and they're all permanent from mac so I thought I'd feature them here if anyone's looking for recommendations for new lipsticks.

stand by for worlds iffiest lips swatches...

.Saint Germain.
This is a fab lip for those who like bright pinks. It's a matte but isn't drying like some can be. It's a super bright cool pink and is great with a pale neutral and a bit of liner. My camera's not a fan though and washes it out but trust me it's very bright!

.Creme Cup.
This is definitely my go to lip for days when I'm just not that bothered. It's a neutral soft pink and gives a glossy but natural look that is perfect for work and times when you want to look like just rolled out bed looking gorgeous.

.Lady Bug.
I always recommend this as a red lip to people regardless of their skin tone or experience with makeup. It's a fab red that can be applied sheer or built up to intensity and looks great on literally everyone. It's also very comfy to wear unlike Ruby Woo for example which feels like chalk sometimes. It's also pretty long lasting.

There we are. Just a really quick post showcasing my current faves. If you'd like me to do these more often please say so and I'll make sure I keep posting what I'm loving. Also I know these are all mac but I don't just use mac I also have a lot of other brands that I use. *pinky swear* so it won't be all pricey stuff.

I hope everyone's having a lovely day. My pet male was meant to be visiting me but has been struck down with a horrible flu so I'm just chilling alone today watching the Princess and the Frog and Kung Fu Panda 2. Sad person

Travels With a Camera

.dressing up my cat in her sleep. autumnal scenes in my park. Hello Kitty biscuits in TK MAXX.
.Waitrose pad thai is t.a.s.t.y! A sneaky mc'ds lunch. a luxurious bath with LUSH's comforter after work. Picked up the hunger games on Friday evening and had read it by Saturday morning ~ that was a productive night.

It's been a funny old week.

Elliott was away on a course for his work last week so we celebrated his return true slovenly student style with a maccies in his car and crashing out watching three episodes of Criminal minds. In other news I'm feeling especially Christmasy this year which is odd as normally I'm the resident scrooge of my family. this year I've just finished buying all my presents and I'm shopping for decorations and cards tomorrow, normally Christmas time makes me roll my eyes but this year I'm really in the mood. maybe because I know as I'm getting older I might not be around my family for Christmas much longer. I still loathe christmas dinner, christmas songs and christmas tv but the idea of just being with my family with a big tree decorated with military ocd by my mother watching the great freaking escape AGAIN   rather warms my heart.

Has anyone else read the hunger games? It's been on my to-read list for EVER so I finally bit the bullet and snapped it up and I have to say it was pretty good. I found most of the characters a bit see through but I quite liked the heroine and the story was very interesting. Of course I just heard there's a movie of it coming out pretty soon. typical!

This weeks very much back to the essays, studying in between long shifts at work and the occasional nap. Hopefully something interesting will arise in between the yawn inducing events. otherwise it's just blogging and Criminal Minds marathons to keep me sane.

Things that bug me that really shouldn't

Beeping traffic crossings
Peas mixed in with my food
When people overuse certain words or phrases
Single layered chocolate boxes
People using my coloured pens
Being watched while I’m eating
Crossed out mistakes and wonky underlining on my school notes
Tangles in my headphones
When my laptop takes longer than a millisecond to do something

Ad breaks during a movie
The sound of my own voice (cringe)
Blogs with eeny weeny pictures
My own non-existent grasp of html
When omelettes get burnt on the bottom
How pizza is both wonderfully tasty and full of crap
The scratches on the back of my iphone

Misplaced apostrophes grrrrrrrr
Smudging my nail polish before it's dried
When the miming in music videos doesn't match up to the singing
How no form of hair removal is permanent AND painless AND affordable
The idea of ending this post in a negative light.

I promise I'm not an enormous grump. But sometimes those teeny weeny things that happen in life just get on top of you. However we all know we are incredibly privileged and we must be thankful for things. So here's a tiny list of things that make me deliriously happy that really shouldn't:

Glittery gel pens
 Writing out Christmas cards
The feeling of a brand new blank notebook
'When Will My Life Begin' - that song from Tangled!
Mixing a big bowl ice cream with loads of different candies and chocolates

Wednesday Wish List #8

1.2.3.4.5

So I might have been a big slice of fail cake last week and completely forgotten to do my Wednesday Wish List. Still, right back on the bandwagon this week!

1. Ok so I'm not referring to specifically this keyboard but if you follow me on twitter and share my messed up sleeping pattern you'll know I've decided to teach myself to play the piano/keyboard. There are plenty of great affordable ones so I'm keeping my eye out but playing the keyboard is something i've wanted to do since I was a wee nipper running round with my power ranger dolls and I think it's time to indulge myself in this particular fantasy. It might have to wait till after Christmas though as I have exams in January and can't afford to get distracted!

2. Yet another loveheartsandcrosses item! I... I really don't have much to say with this other than it is utterly gorgeous and I'd love to get my hands on it.  I swear my poor bank account is going to be RAPED by jewellery spends this month.

3. Yep more jewellery! This is just the cutest thing and I found it on a lovely kawaii style e-shop called Ku-Ki Shop. I always have a soft spot for cutesy things like this and I mean c'mon! It's like a star AND a cookie AND it has a face!!! I want this round my neck!

4. Has anyone not seen the Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish? yet? No? Of course not. We've all seen how quickly this flew round the blogosphere and now many major bloggers swear by it. I haven't been interested until now as I've recently run out of the cleanser I'm using and am looking for something to replace it. I haven't used a hot cloth cleanser but I can really see the appeal so I'll definitely be giving that a shot.

5. Finally this ADORABLE dress! If you click on the link above you'll be taken to modcloth where this is sold. Modcloth is an amazing site especially for dresses and it sucks that they're only US based as shipping for big things like clothes is ridonkulous! But this dress is beautiful regardless. I can totally see this with a chunky knit cardi and heels.

Righto that's all for this weeks lustings! What's on your Wish List this week? What would you recommend?

Offerings from November's GlossyBox

This is my 3rd Glossybox having been something of a late jumper on the old bandwagon and I have to be honest, the lack of actual makeup products is getting on my proverbial tits. I've had a quick look through my other posts on what I got each month and the only things coming close were an eyeliner a nail polish and that brow palette which was the only thing out of the three I have actually used...

But regardless I'm keeping up my subscription for now and hopefully now that they have the Glossybox 'ambassadors' i.e. bloggers who get their boxes for free in return for feedback (groan) that might start to change.

The hand cream and moisturiser both smell epic though as I rarely use hand cream and am very picky with face creams I'll have to see if they get any use. The bath salts are going straight in my mummy's christmas box.

I was pretty intrigued by the nail wraps. I haven't used them but I'm not the most patient and/or coordinated so I can imagine I'll fail spectacularly at putting them on. Still the leopard print is rather jazzy so I'll give these a go, there's only one sheet of them though so if I arse it I don't get another go :(

The only thing in this months box I was really happy to see was the Illamasqua perfume sample. I've wanted to try it but I live nowhere near a counter so I'm happy that I get to give it a try. Ooh and and and it gets better! The sample wasn't one of those craptastic vials with a stick in the lid that are a nightmare to open and you feel like you're going to spill everywhere. It has a spray nozzle! Oh frabjuous day :')

The perfume smells quite dark and sensual and lists some rather scary notes such as 'poison hemlock' and 'opium flower' but actually I really like it. Considering I'm usually doused in Miss Dior Cherie or Marc Jacobs' Daisy it's quite a leap but I can see myself really getting used to wearing something this sultry and it does have a slight sweetness to it.

Also I just wanted to show you the scent description. I'm such a sucker for pretty words.

Do ignore the clear reflection of my iphone, that is currently my camera haha.

They say that GlossyBox is planning something really good for Christmas so I'm crossing my fingers for something really high end or high profile. MAC or Benefit maybe?

Has anyone else received this glossybox? Am I the only person getting a bit bored with crappy hand creams and the like?

To Depot or not to Depot?

Tumblr_lnk9m0p3kz1qjz424o1_500_large

So a bit of a random post today.  If you guys saw my post about my makeup storage you'll know I'm having trouble finding space for all my crap while stopping everything getting cluttered so as a solution I've been thinking about depotting all my MAC shadows into palettes. However it's occurred to me that while I have a decent amount of MAC shadows there aren't many that I'm devoted to enough to want to bother putting them in a palette. I used to be obsessed with getting makeup but now I'm at the point where all the bright shadows and crazy coloured lippies are just taking up space and not getting used so I may have a blogsale pretty soon. If you're interested let me know!

So I'm thinking of just starting up a palette, with only a few of my fave shadows of my current collection going in there (honestly between sharp knives, heat and other things used to depot my clumsiness would probably mean it ended badly anyway)

But I just wanted to let you guys know of a feature I found after doing a little digging online where you can drag and drop colours to create your own virtual palette on the US site. Pretty cool huh?

This is the 15 palette full of eyeshadows I either own and might try to depot or want to buy in pan form to put straight into the palettes.

.Brule . All That Glitters . Naked Lunch . Jest . Gleam.
.Shale . Expensive Pink . Sushi Flower . Mythology . Twinks.
.Sketch . Espresso . Trax . Patina . Beauty Marked.

As you can see they're pretty much all neutral colours as it's come to my attention that despite owning a mass of bright shadows from places like Sugarpill and Urban Decay, I really don't have any inclination of using them (again blogsale anyone?) and actually find that I can create really interesting looks with neutrals, pinks and light purples that get me more compliments than any time I tried to rock some bright blue and orange extravaganza.

If you fancy having a go at this (you can do blush palettes and quads too!) you can find the link HERE
I don't think the function exists on the UK site and it's a bit fiddly to use but I found it good fun to see how my palettes would look and how I would organise them.

I am curious how many people actually hit the 'add all to cart' button afterwards as these things come to a total of well over £150! I'll definitely be building mine up over a few months. However much I love the look of that palette up there I need to eat!

Do you already own mac palettes? If so do you find them more convenient than having them all individually?

New Primark Bling

(First off sorry these pics aren't exactly stellar - Light fades so quickly this time of year when I got time to do them it was already getting dark! Stoopid weather)

These are just a few pieces I picked up from Primark yesterday. You may have already seen the stag ring if you follow any fashion bloggers or youtubers as everyone seems to be picking the little guy up.

I think some of the jewellery Primark has out right now is just brilliant. I know people moan about price rises but how can you complain when a) the quality is improving and b) the people who make the stuff in the factories get a better quality of life? Especially when places like TopShop and Accessorize troll out very similar pieces for triple the price and, for me at least, it breaks just as quick! All these pieces are sturdy and have great detail too to pay less than a tenner for all of this stuff is just brilliant!

Also anyone who finds rings leave green bands around your fingers try a thin coat of clear nail polish around the
inside. I do that to all my rings the second I get home and it stops that problem.

Anyway I just thought I'd show you some of the lovely bits that are available from cheap-as-chips Primark right now.

Bye guys!

Things I could win Awards for

Procrastination
Buying notebooks with the intention of filling them with prose, thoughts and inspiration just to doodle in them
Being too pale to match any foundation
Being a horrible cook
Spending hours reading blogs
Messiness
Having the most colourful school notes

 Obsessing over nail polishes
Getting over excited about small things
Singing along to Korean pop songs without understanding any of the lyrics
Chatting to my cat
Bullshitting whilst trying to make sense of Elizabethan Poetry
Eating my entire Graze Box in one go
Convincing myself that maccies fries are potatoes and therefore healthy
Finding and loving songs on youtube
Creeping people out
Getting distracted
Sniffing out Hello Kitty merchandise anywhere
Doodling
A Diverse musical taste
Getting socially anxious
Eating copious amounts of sushi in one sitting
Playing Hide and Seek
Tearing up at tender moments in kids films
Miscounting things
Spending an entire paycheck in the first few days of getting it

Today's definitely not been my favourite. Nothing horrendous but it was just a collection of bad news boredom and certain people being a little less awesome that I hoped they would be today that just put me in a less than stellar mood. So I'm just chilling reading some blogs and coming up with my next list. This one was actually inspired by Bee who did a similar list so any imagination credit goes to her.

world's easiest cookie mix

...

Hey guys!

Never let it be said that I only blog about boring healthy food!

I’d seen this idea dotted around the internet and decided to give it a go with some Devils Food Cake mix that was going unused. All it took was 2 eggs and 80mls of oil added to the mix and stirred up until it resembled grainy dough. Then I just rolled the mix into balls, flattened them slightly and popped them spaced apart on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. I personally added a few fudge pieces to make it interesting.

Then I just baked for 12 minutes and put them on a wire rack to cool. (They will feel very soft until the cool and harden)

These are so delicious and chewy and definitely taste like the professional cookies in bakeries (I think we’ve uncovered their secret!) I also made a few plain ones which I covered in a little frosting and they’re all sat on the plate covered in foil till my Grandparents come to visit

Well most of them are anyway...

If you give this a try let me know how it turns out! Trust me they're delish!

Ask me questions and GIVEAWAY?

Tumblr_llmv0s3cc21qie7e2o1_500_large

  Lamest title ever

Just so ya know...

I made a formspring! It's a new one, I had a 'personal one' but it was full of me and my friends just throwing song lyrics back and forth and some personal questions from friends who liked to ask advice on awkward subjects.

So I made a brand spanking new one and you can find it here

Feel free to come along and ask me anything about anything. I love formspring, it can get really serious or just really funny! It'll be linked through my Twitter too so you can find it there :) Any questions about things on my blog, things about my life or even if you want some advice from a friendly impartial voice I'll be happy to answer

Also oddly this is in fact my 90th post! I'm all giddy and excited to reach 100 and I will definitely be having a giveaway of some description when I get there just to celebrate all you lovely people who read my rambles. I'm so grateful.

What I want to know from you guys is what sort of prizes you would like. I blog about a lot of different things and the style of this blog ranges from kawaii to vintage and everything in between! So an idea I had would be to have a few different little prize packs - some sort of vintage and florals, some more cutesy and kawaii style and of course some makeup too. I'm thinking maybe MAC gift cards to go in every pack? Then people can choose which they'd like to be entered for and there'll be say three winners and they'll win one each?

Thoughts?

anyhoo let me know what you think!!! This is for you guys after all!

Ok random floopings over. Now go shout at me on formspring mkay?

I'll have to run off now and make ANOTHER button for my sidebar.

bye guys!
