Graze Box Time!

Evening everyone! I just wanted to quickly show the most recent Graze Box I received.

Lost Army - 3/5
I saved this for a quick snack at work. I found some were tasty, mainly the peanut based ones. Some of the little crackers were very peppery and also they had a glaze on that tasted a bit odd. It was ok but i'll probably bin this one to be honest.

Honeycomb Crunch - 4/5
This one was pretty yummy. I don't like almonds when they still have the rough outer coat on them so that was a drawback but the raisins and crunchie style chunks were tasty.  This one will probably remain unrated for now.

Hickory Smoked Nuts & Seeds - 1/5

Ok I knew I wasn't going to like this from the second I opened it. I have a sweet tooth and to me everything here tasted reminiscent of things like smoky bacon crisps, which funnily enough I also don't like. I ate the cashews which were tasty but gave everything else to my mum. For people who want a good alternative to those sorts of flavoured crisps this would be a great idea.  For me it's getting binned.

Fruit and Seed Flapjack - 4/5

I quite liked this, it tasted quite sweet and the seeds added a very nice crunch. I'm just knocking off a point because it's not as nice as the last flapjack I tried from them but very satisfying none the less! Will probably get a like.

So overall this box scored an ok 3/5 . I'm starting to see why the 'binning' option is a good idea. there's some things I absolutely love and others that just aren't to my taste. Still it would be nice if they took my likes, loves etc and used a bit of initiative to figure out I have a sweet tooth!

Hope you enjoyed guys! Tell me if you've gotten Graze Boxes and how you've been finding them!

The 2012 150+ Book Challenge!

I want all my books to look that cool!

Reading more books was always going to be a New Years resolution for 2012. Since I'm going for an English course at university I figured I should really get used to devouring books like Happy Meals!
So imagine my flappy squealing delight when Amy from MyOverstuffed Bookshelf decided to host a 150+ book challenge for next year! The idea is very simple: try to manage reading 150 books in 2012 and post up reviews of each one on either your blog or any review site, Goodreads for example and then you can link them on her monthly pages. She's a great reviewer and I'm always adding her recommendations to my wishlist!

Pretty much any book is allowed including manga, audiobooks and ebooks, so long as it can be purchased it can be featured.

I'm really excited (probably too excited) and am already getting myself a little to-read list prepared so I can tuck straight in once the new year rocks up. I haven't read a huge amount since I was about 20 so it'll be nice to get back into it. Also I would love to someday be a writer myself and they say reading insane amounts is the best way to learn!
If you're interested in signing up and coming along you can sign up to the post here and we can all be part of something really fun!

Childish Things I Still Do

 *
and probably always will

♥ Sing /hum Disney songs
♥ Dress up all out on Halloween
♥ Fidget
♥ Dream about the castle I will live in when I’m older
♥ Splash in puddles
♥ Complain about my bedtime
♥ Doodle rainbows/hearts/stars
♥ Stamp
♥ Go through phases of collecting various different inane things
♥ Draw pretend tattoos on myself
♥ Make wishes
♥ Play with my food
♥ Own big cuddly toys
♥ Get fussy about food
♥ Wear my hair in bunches
♥ Giggle
♥ Get excited about glitter
♥ Think cuddles make everything better

Yay for more lists! I'm currently getting rather into them so prepare to see a few cropping up on here. I just do them sometimes to pass the time and it's a fun way to reflect and realise things about yourself - I honestly do still draw on myself and think 'Eff yeah I gots a tattoo!' I'm currently sat with a pretty poor drawing of a frog on my left arm. #coolkid

Something Wicked This Way Comes...

Ghost Necklace
 Skull Ring
Joker Bag
 Black Cat Necklace

Yo!

Once again Halloween is upon us and I'm forced to spend stupid amounts of money on chocolate and then hand it all over to the little snot rags that live on my street.

Still that aside I love Halloween. Honestly I don't know why we don't have it a few times a year! Think how fun a summer halloween would be! *pineapple pumpkins anyone?* Maybe it's just because I like how 'scary' gets a bit camp and fun at Halloween. I'm actually a complete wuss and scary films and ghost stories actually frighten the living crap out of me. But at halloween it's all spooky and cute and frankly that's just my cup of pumpkin juice.

So here's a little wishlist (I know it's not Wednesday but that would have been way too late) reflecting my Halloween spirits - so nothing too gory or creepy, and as usual plenty of pink!

The little ghost necklace especially. Isn't it cuuuuuute?

The joker bag's probably the creepiest thing there - though If I'm honest I would never use that style of bag - maybe if they had it as a cute rucksack? ... though I think that might spoil the sinister effect if I'm brutally honest.

Ooh ooh picture of how I did my nails!

I'm no artist and I definitely should take better care of my poor nails but hey, it looks vaguely like frankenstien's monster so I'm proud! it's so cute I feel like I'd wear it even if it wasn't halloween... is that bad?

RIGHTO that's me well and truly shattered from 9 hours of work today so I'm going to get into my jammies, make myself a cup of hot chocolate and take myself to bed.

Bye guys!

Travels with a camera

♥ 28th October 2011

CLOSE UP AHH!  Working like a dog currently, can you spot my little Graze Box punnet? Meanwhile someone else takes a good long snooze  Ryvita and cheese sandwich = NOM  Threatened by an angry and very tiny tiger on the way to work yesterday - ohai thumb!  The closest I will ever get to gothic art The boyfs poor unfortunate puppy  Megamind on DVD and a Sainsbury's lunch♥

Tired...so tired

Spent the entire morning frantically scribbling out notes and trying to keep them neat and colourful enough that I might at some point want to go back and read them. Anyone else like that? Can't stand the sight of their own atrocious writing?  Luckily the afternoon meant fun hanging out at Elliott's house and laughing at his poor pup who just got neutered... which apparently affects her neck or something? I never got the details I was too busy laughing while she tried to get through little spaces with the bloody great cone round her face.

We just pootled round Sainsbury's trying to decide on healthy lunches and avoiding all the really weird looking people who only seem to come out on weekday afternoons. Y'know that lady in the huge duffel coat shuffling along talking to herself? Those people. Our Sainsbury's seems to attract them.

In fairness they could well be eyeing us up thinking we're the creeps.

Settled on a healthy lunch of chicken and bacon pasta pot. Then ballsed it with a chocolate squares bar. Whatever I totally burned it off while sitting curled up through a giant kid themed movie marathon. Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Mary Poppins, Shrek, 101 Dalmations and the frankly epic Megamind all in one day? ERM YES!

Work again tomorrow. I swear I'm nineteen and already I'm literally working my life away! Think I'll be up for early retirement. Say 25?

Chit Chat

Things I’d currently like in my life:

♥ A faster metabolic rate
♥ Megamind on DVD
♥ A vaguely intellectual looking book collection
♥ To dine somewhere fancy and shmancy
♥ Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation in the right shade! #stupidgirlatthecounter
♥ A tidy room... without having to do it myself.
♥ Motivation
♥ Glass jars full of coloured pens and pencils lining my desk
♥ A laptop that takes less than a day year decade to do anything
♥ A free pair of circle lenses to try out so I know if they look ridiculous or not.
♥ Handwritten [love] letters
♥ Masses of disposable income to spend on frivolous scrap
♥ Lots of pets including a pug named Petula and a maine coon cat called Barney
♥ My Graze Box for tomorrow – I feel lost without my snacks! *cries*
♥ For the people around me to appreciate anime as much as I do
♥ A larger selection of pyjamas

Such a slobby, lazy day today. I'm currently sat in a hoodie and the same jammie shorts I wore in bed last night . *Trampy I'm aware* In my defense I worked my ass off for a nine hour shift at work yesterday and tomorrow is a day out with the boy which, lovely as that will be, means a few hours of preening so he doesn't open the door to the quasimodo creature that is me in the morning. So today was a much needed chillaxation day catching up on my beloved America's Next Top Model and eating way more cereal than is needed for someone using as little energy as I was today. Ah well.

Now you may be asking "whats this bun bun? this isnt beauty/fashion/food related! Whaaa!?" But the truth is my blog's been getting a smidge erm.. same-y in terms of just featuring beauty and fashion bits and I'd hate for my beloved little blog to just get stuck in a rut! So I'm going to be shaking it up a tad - trying some new things and adding a little more of me into my blog. Right now it's lacking in a little of the zest and personality that I always look for when I'm searching out new blogs to follow so I'll be doing a few slightly more personal things.

 Thats things like
♥ Pics from my daily life
♥ More food and baking posts
♥ More lists and chats
♥ And sharing things that make me happy! ♥

Things like this pic I found in weheartit:

I have such a bunny fascination

Anyway

 ♥ Hope everyone's having a good day!

Om nom nom - Oven Baked Omlette

Yo!

This is something I've been really enjoying during my healthy eating kick, oven baked omlette. So I thought I'd feature it here in case anyone fancies giving it a go.

**seriously it's stupidly easy and doesn't even really count as a recipe but it's fun for noobs like me who like to think they can cook**

Ingredients first:

♥ Eggs - duh? I used one whole egg and two whites

You can see the other things I used above but feel free to substitute anything you like. A few other things I like putting on include:

♥ Shredded or diced chicken
♥ Pepperoni/salami
♥ Mushrooms
♥ Different varieties of cheese
♥ Sliced tomates

I love experimenting and seeing what combinations are tasty.

I just chop up all my veggies etc and pile them into an oven proof dish.
Then I whisk together my eggs with a fork add a dash of milk and pour it over.
I always sprinkle the cheese and other flaky bits like ham over the top.
I just bung it in the oven at 200C for 20 minutes. Then grill the top for 2 minutes afterwards so the cheese is a little crunchy

Spoon out of the dish onto a plate - I like to chop mine into slices

and serve!

Super tasty, low in fat and processed carbs and a great way to get your veggies in!

Give it a go!

Wednesday Wishlist #5

 ♥ H&M Print Dress ♥
 ♥ McQ Tartan Dress ♥
 ♥ YSL Ring
 ♥ Snake Bangle
 ♥ Studded Flats

Ah jeez. I go on Net-a-porter for a quick peek round and my entire Wednesday Wishlist is out of my price range. Well at least the H&M dress is only £12.99, it's so cute! And definitely something to have under big cardis, tights and boots/ heels.

I've wanted a tartan dress since the dawn of forever... this one's erm... £470? *shockhorrordies* but it is sooo pretty so I'll be keeping an eye out for a similar cheap version.

The YSL ring is £180 so not stupidly expensive, but not something I'm sure I'd splurge on. Somehow it makes me think of Disney Princesses - mainly Beauty and the Beast, not sure why. I'm loving big slightly ridiculous costume jewellery right now.

Again with the semi-daft jewellery, this snake bangle is a mind numbing £550 and I know Primark do similar things for about a fiver so I don't think I'll be saving for this anytime soon. Still - it's on here because it's the prettiest version of this type of bracelet I've ever seen.

Lastly these little studded flats are just adorable! I know everyone's buying those studded slipper type things but they really aren't my style. These are from a site called shoplesnouvelles.com... it's all priced in dollars so I can't decide if it's French or US but anyhow, these would be just darling with maybe grey tights and a little red dress.. or something haha

Right that's my stupidly expensive wishlist done for the week. Stay AWAY from Net-A-Porter if you value your budgeting skills!

My Wishing Stars

♥ Hey Everyone

So I'm currently sat surrounded by a giant pile of pretty paper strips on one side and another giant pile of folded up paper stars on the other.

This is all because of a present I'm currently making for a little Christmas treat for my lovely boyfriend. I'm planning on making a paper star for every day we've been  together.. which is a while! It's a sweet Japanese tradition for young women to make jars of paper stars and give them to people you love.

After some embarrassingly long and contrived maths problems I had to do I figured out that it was 803 days we would have been together from 13th october 2009 till Christmas this year (and if anyone fancies telling me if I made any mistakes please do. Numbers are not my strong point *cries*)

So the plan, as a little treat for him along with his proper presents, is to make a paper star for every day we've been together and to have them all in a pretty glass jar for him to keep. I know it's a bit sad but it's so easy to just go out and buy people presents so something like this, that takes a pretty decent amount of effort, goes a long way to showing someone that you care about them.

anyway
I've been looking at pictures of these jars of paper stars for a little inspiration and just wanted to share a few with you. I hope you enjoy!

♥ I doubt mine will turn out this pretty

But maybe after star 500 I might start getting the hang of it?

LUSH's Lip Scrub for Luscious Lippies!

So who liked my tongue twister title then? ahahh

Look at that - two reviews in two days, props to me! Just a quick aside, unless I buy a decent amount of things in one go or something I feel is of significance I won't show them as 'hauls' so things I review or whatever my not have been seen before.. just so noones like WHEN did you get that then???

ANYWAY

Honestly this wasn't something I was really interested in buying. I actually ended up with i as part of a LUSH gift box I purchased. it was the Wild Child one and I also got Rock Star Soap, Happy Hippy Shower Gel, Sweetie Pie Shower Jelly and the Up You Gets Emotibomb. All for a decent £18.95.

In terms of price this will set you back £4.95 which, if I'm honest is just a bit steep for what is essentially scented sugar. There's not a huge amount of it either, just 25g in a jar. Having said that it smells unbelievably yummy! If you've ever tried Snow Fairy shower gel which is an iconic Christmas product this is exactly like it, Tutti Frutti Bubblegum Sweetness and actually it tastes pretty good too.

Honestly this works perfectly, I take a teeny bit and rub it in circular motions across my lips and I've got silky soft lips I can put vaseline on and not have to worry about my lipstick looking flaky and gross. Especially with winter coming up my lips can get pretty dry and cracked so this is a lovely way to keep them feeling good.

Still I can't help thinking that sugar from your own home mixed with a little vaseline or olive oil would do a similar job. Admittedly without the various yummy flavours this comes in but still, I'm not paying for it to smell good, it's only on my lips for a few seconds.

This is probably more of a treat than anything else, or something to buy as a present, as it does smell delicious and look pretty cute.

And that's all I've got for that!

Have you given this a go? What did you think?

Too Faced Romantic Eye Palette

♥ Hey everyone!

I know I've been sitting on this review for a while so apologies for that but here it is!

Honestly there's not much I can say about that other than I love it to pieces. The shadows are soft and pigmented, even the mattes are easy to work with and there are plenty of lovely combinations, both natural and colourful, that can be made from just this little palette making it a brilliant choice to take away for the weekend.

My only real problem with it is that the three 'highlight' colours are a bit crap. 'Soulmates' is the only one I'd consider using (who wants a bright pink or pale green browbone?) and even then it's glittery and I like a simple matte skin tone highlight. This also means people with a darker skintone have no highlight at all and it's irritating that they are the three biggest pans and two of them I may never use.

That aside I really really love this palette and I've just realised that the two darker colours on the end aren't showing up to brilliantly in the pics so I'll quickly tell you that Un-veil is a very very dark grey, nearly black but just a bit softer. First Dance is a lovely rich, mid toned purple that makes a perfect outer crease colour.

It does come with suggestions on the little cards pictured and yes you can use them that way but there are so many looks that can be created from this palette that I haven't actually looked at them once!

So that's really all I have to say on this. It was about £26 I believe which is a great deal for nine eyeshadows of this quality, and the box is sturdy, not too heavy and above all super pretty!

I love this palette and I'm definitely going to check out more of these palettes from Too Faced as I think a little collection of them would look so cute on my vanity!

If you have any more questions please comment below and I'll get back to you. Have a lovely day!
