Glossybox: Christmas Offerings

Apologies for the frankly shite photos, we lose light so quickly at this time of the year it's hard to find a place where it's all bright and lovely and crisp when i get home from work. *sad day*

I admit I wasn't going to do this post for a while. If you follow me on twitter you'll totally know this but I didn't want to join the race trying to get my post up but the lovely Sarah at From The Cherry Tree talked sense into me.
So here we are. I've decided to do a 'Glossybox - one week later' feature too where I've actually tried the products and can tell you whether they were as good (or in some cases as bad) as they seemed at first. Sound good? Let me know if that's something you'd be interested in.

First off I'm pretty happy with this months offerings. I'm definitely happy about the Deborah Lippman polish as 1. it's a brand that is starting to get quite big on beauty blogs and 2. I tried it out and it's beautiful! I havent heard anything about the polish remover and to only get one use seems a little daft but I'm up for giving it a shot :)

I also like the shower gel. Its a HUGE bottle and it smells divine! Sweet but not overly sugary Snow Fairy style sweet. I'll be giving that a try later. The eye cream is going straight to my mum, as the one thing I don't need for my skin is anti aging products. The lipgloss I'm actually giving to a friend for her birthday and the eye/cheek set is going in the box I've set aside for giveaway prizes. The lipgloss is pretty but i don't wear glosses too much and the eye/cheek set was my only disappointment. Not because I think it's bad, i've read reviews and apparently teh colours are stunning and great quality, but because I got the super bright colored one. I would have loved to have received the neutral one as I live in neutrals and rarely wear colours that aren't soft and muted. So the bright green, pink etc really isn't me. This btw is the reason it's not open, I don't want to fiddle about with it before I give it away.

Anyhoo, my small gripes aside I think this is actually a great box. I love the red packaging - possibly more than the pink! And to actually have makeup products in their and two full sized products. Definitely worth the £12.95 these things cost. Obviously there will be people complaining that they didn't get a full set of Sigma brushes or an Urban Decay palette but honestly for £13 what do you expect? The gifts were well chosen and up to date with what people are looking at on the blogosphere at the moment.

Did you receive a Glossy Box this month? What were your thoughts?

  1. I'm so tempted to take off my Barry M red glitter just to put the Deborah Lippman polish on! But i'd feel like i was being wasteful as I only put it on last night! :( xx

  3. Yeah about that comment on my blog... I'm amazed sometimes of how people don't realise what they're saying. She probably think it's a story I invented.

    Anyway.

I personally only had one glossy box, a few months ago and I had to unsubscribe for money reasons but i think it's a great way of getting to know new products for cheap !

Cool that they had a red box for Christmas =) I like the little snow flakes on your banner ^^ (yes I follow you on Twitter and that's why I came back to see the Xmas spirit =D hehe)

  5. I loved the contents of this months box, I used the shower gel this morning ans is lush, I also used the nail polish remover and unfortunately it only removed 4 nails completely , I think it might be because I was wearing red glitter polish which is redicuasky hard to get off :)
